Information about this Agency:
The mission of Wayne Community Action Agency is to empower low-income people and strengthen communities through diverse services, leadership and collaboration. Since 1990, Wayne Metro has partnered with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Wayne County and local communities as a MSHDA-designated Homeownership Counseling Agency and a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) to provide homeownership counseling, education and assistance throughout Wayne County. All Agency Homeownership Counselors utilize the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling.
Wayne Metro offers monthly virtual workshops. You can find the schedule of classes and request to meet with a HUD Certified Housing Counselor at www.waynemetro.org/housing/
An alternative to the scheduled virtual workshops is eHome online training. This is a great option for anyone needing more flexibility and interested in learning at their own pace. eHome offers several courses including Money Management for a fee of $50 per person, Homebuyer Education for a fee of $125 per person, Post-purchase Education for a fee of $75 per person, and Foreclosure Education for free.
The Homebuyer Education option does meet the requirement for HUD required education.
