Clinch-Powell is a non-profit HUD-approved housing counseling agency located in East Tennessee. Clinch-Powell has housing counselors certified in Homebuyer Pre-Purchase Education/Counseling, Post-Purchase Education, and Foreclosure Prevention/Loss Mitigation. In addition to following HUD guidelines, all counselors and the agency as a whole have adopted National Industry Standards. Clinch-Powell has been a participating agency with eHome America since 2010.

Clinch-Powell is a member of TN Housing Development Agency’s [THDA] Homebuyer Education network (Agency #71), and offers both traditional Homebuyer Education and Post-Purchase Education as is required by some THDA programs. Our counselors are well-versed in the specifics of THDA loans and down payment programs as well as USDA Rural Development loans, the Welcome Home down payment program, and the HOME program among others.

In following HUD directives, Clinch-Powell strives to provide a thorough service to its customers; in essence, providing the most value for your dollar in the form of personalized, in depth financial coaching. When you register for the eHome America course, you will be contacted by a Clinch-Powell counselor and sent a form to fill out in preparation for your one-on-one session. You may also access this form through Clinch-Powell’s website.  http://www.clinchpowell.net/files/ehome-session-form         Once you have completed the online course through eHomeAmerica, you will complete a one hour customized budget counseling session with one of our certified counselors. This personalized attention is not available in a group class and can be done in person or over the phone. Further details and instructions are provided on the form itself. During the appointment, you and your counselor will confidentially discuss budgeting, anticipating future housing expenses, and safeguarding your newest and most valuable asset: your home. Your counselor can also answer questions you may have about your specific loan and the loan process. Once the course and budget counseling session are completed, you will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for one year.
