Leading the Way to a Better Maine

Founded in 1972, Avesta Housing has grown to become one of the country's most innovative and respected leaders in affordable housing. Avesta Housing's mission is to promote and provide housing opportunities primarily for Southern Maine people in need. Avesta advocates for affordable housing, develops and manages high quality housing, and helps residents access other needed services. Avesta Housing recommends new homebuyers enroll and complete the eHome America online course, and follow-up with private, one-on-one homeownership counseling with Avesta. Your counselor will serve as your homeownership coach and advocate throughout the home buying process.

You will receive 1) a credit and budget analysis to determine your readiness for a home purchase; 2) an affordability analysis to determine how much home you can afford; and 3) an action plan to serve as your step by step guide to successful homeownership.

To ensure the best results, complete this informative course and enroll in our one-on-one home buyer education program.

PLEASE NOTE: Each person signing the mortgage must complete the eHome America course individually. Upon completion they will receive a homebuyer education certificate in their name only.
