Information about this Agency:
The New York Mortgage Coalition (NYMC), a nonprofit organization, is a unique collaboration of financial institutions and housing counseling agencies dedicated to helping low to moderate-income families become first-time homebuyers in the Greater New York area. Through financial workshops and one-on-one counseling, NYMC's network of 18 agencies helps borrowers understand and prepare for the responsibilities of homeownership. We also provide access to lenders who offer competitive, fixed-rate mortgages which may include closing cost grants and down payment assistance.
eHome America provides a convenient alternative to traditional homebuyer workshops. The online course can be taken 24/7 in your own home at your own pace, thus saving significant travel time and transportation costs. eHome America's program is HUD-accepted and based on the NeighborWorks America Realizing the American Dream curriculum, and meets the National Industry Standards for homebuyer education. After completing the 8-hour online course, homebuyers are required to contact a housing counseling agency for a one-hour follow-up session in order to receive their Certificate of Completion which helps qualify for various first-time homeownership programs.
