Nebraska Housing Resource (NHR) is a 501(c)(3) Nebraska non-profit corporation formed in 1998 by members of the Home Builders Association of Lincoln. NHR provides affordable housing opportunities for first-time buyers by encouraging homebuilders to build homes to serve this market, by increasing the supply of suitable lots, and investing in a qualified home buyers with financial assistance to purchase homes built on NHR lots.
Qualified home buyer typically refers to individuals or families who are first-time home buyers with household income at or below 120% of the Area Median Income for Lancaster County, Nebraska. The home buyer financial assistance is a no interest, no payment second mortgage that is repaid to NHR if the house is resold.
