Community Housing of Wyandotte County
Community Housing of Wyandotte County (CHWC) is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit community development corporation whose mission is to revitalize and stabilize communities through affordable housing, community building, quality of life improvements and other related initiatives.
CHWC takes a holistic approach to community redevelopment. Our approach includes new and rehabilitated housing, community building and organizing, and homeownership promotion, preservation, and counseling. CHWC understands that both the physical and social capital of any neighborhood needs to be equally strong in order to create sustainable and long-term change. This focused approach to redeveloping the community allows CHWC to achieve its vision of Kansas City, Kansas/Wyandotte County as a diverse and vibrant community welcoming families with housing, employment, educational and economic opportunities, making our neighborhoods a community where people can thrive and are proud to live.
