Thank you for choosing Community Housing Development Corporation (CHDC) as your online homebuyer education provider. CHDC is a HUD approved non-profit housing counseling agency dedicated to creating and sustaining vibrant communities and building assets that make a positive impact in people's lives. One of the ways we do this is by assisting first-time homebuyers in the purchase of possibly the biggest asset they will ever attain, their home. Once you have completed this course you must complete an intake form and have a counseling session with one of our HUD certified counselors in order to receive your certificate of completion. In further support of the first-time homebuyer CHDC offers several educational opportunities to support and encourage homeowners to build assets and create wealth in order to enhance their life and their community. Here are a few of the programs we offer:
HOMEBUYER EDUCATION - Group education classes and one-on-one counseling sessions to help prepare you for homeownership.
DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS - We offer various programs to assist with down payment and closing costs. Selected programs do have income and property restrictions. You will learn more about down payment assistance in your one-on-one session with your counselor
CREDIT COUNSELING - We provide one-on-one counseling sessions to educate and facilitate good credit management and credit building or re-building.
POST PURCHASE EDUCATION AND COUNSELING - A series of workshops designed to help homeowners successfully maintain and sustain their asset. Topics include: Home Maintenance, Property Taxes and Insurance, Emergency Preparedness, and more. One-on-one counseling for homeowners seeking loan modification, refinancing, foreclosure intervention and other issues involving homeownership is also available.
FINANCIAL EDUCATION AND COACHING - CHDC offers workshops and one-on-one financial coaching that is designed to help build important skills on topics often desired but rarely taught. Our financial coaches help you focus on the financial goals you have set for yourself and family. Financial education training addresses such topics like spending plans and cash flow, money management, consumer rights and credit, investing, predatory lending, and much more.
To receive your certificate and find out if you are eligible for available down payment assistance programs we require a counseling session that can be conducted in person or by telephone, whichever is more convenient for you. The counseling session is scheduled after you submit the intake forms and required documentation. Instructions for the intake process will be provided once you have successfully completed the on-line E-Home course. Thanks again for choosing CHDC!
