Founded in 1977, the Maine-based organization provides financing and support in the development of job-creating small businesses, natural resources industries, community facilities, and affordable housing.
CEI applies business investment and development strategies that support economic growth, personal equity and a healthy environment - the Triple Bottom Line of socially conscious investing.
A HUD-certified housing counseling agency, CEI has offered first-time home-buyer education since 1996. CEI is a founding member of HoMEworks (http://www.mainehomeworks.org/), a statewide organization of housing educators that works to provide consistent, high-quality and neutral education to first-time homebuyers throughout Maine.
