Note: A ONE-ON-ONE COUNSELING SESSION and some documentation are REQUIRED TO OBTAIN YOUR HOMEBUYER CERTIFICATE. The Counseling session will be scheduled after the online course is complete, and can be in-person or via phone (no additional fees). During this counseling session, your income eligibility for local and state homebuyer assistance will be calculated.
If you are receiving a grant for a portion of your loan, each member purchasing the home must take the course.
Note: The City of Houston does not accept the E-Home America's Homebuyer education class as part of the education requirements for the City Of Houston DAP Program. Please check with your lender if online education is accepted for the programs you are applying.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION will include a copy of your photo ID, most recent month of paystubs, and a copy of your earnest money contract (if you have one). As well as completing some forms for Avenue CDC services including:
- Counseling Intake Form
- Prepurchase Counseling Plan
- Letter of Authorization
- Disclosure Statement
- Description of Avenue CDC's Services
- Avenue Disclosures
